Absolutely everyone has seen deadnettles, but even though they’re so lavishly adorned with pink flowers, they’re hardly noticed. Among their actual target audience, however, they’re very popular, since they bloom very early in the year and don’t stop until the end of October.

Ein weiterer Pluspunkt ist, dass sie zwar Brennnesseln ähneln, aber nicht brennen. Weil sie botanisch zu den Lippenblütlern gehört und nicht zu den Brennnesselgewächsen. Und sie schmeckt auch gut! Die jungen Blätter und Blüten haben ein mildes, süßliches Aroma und bereichern Salate, Smoothies oder Kräuterquark.
