This blossom caught my eye last summer in Normandy, near Omaha Beach. I initially thought it was quite exotic, yet it also thrives splendidly in Munich.

The name is exceptionally ill-chosen here, as it is not evergreen, like (almost) all plants. And it belongs to the dogbane family, which not only dogs should take seriously.

Nevertheless: its propeller-like petals look fantastic! And there’s even a yellow bonus star embedded in the center! Someone truly had fun designing this blossom.
