The difficulties of photographing dandelions begin the moment you try to carry them home without significantly aiding their seed dispersal. Once that is achieved, one should avoid sudden movements and keep everything as vibration-free as possible while photographing.
After several attempts with wavy pappus hairs, I know exactly what I am talking about.

But they are beautiful to behold! The fine hairs look as if they were drawn, and nothing needs to be removed from the structure to reveal its perfection.
