Akebia quinata

To mark the European Football Championship, I have selected the roundest blossom I have encountered to date. We discovered it in the Munich Rose Garden.

Neither chocolate nor wine grows on this climbing plant. Another name is the five-leaf akebia, though that sounds even more far-fetched. The male-shaped follicle is particularly interesting, making the blossom look more like a space capsule.
