Castor bean

Ricinus communis

I discovered this highly bizarre fruit at the end of October in the Poison Garden of Munich’s Rose Garden, when there were not many blossoms left to be found. It was still a bit of a struggle to position the camera and lighting between the branches—but it was worth it.

So, not a flower for once and not at your feet, but still beautiful to look at—just not to touch.
