Anchusa officinalis

On the Swedish island of Öland, in addition to a great many windmills, there are also very small, tiny flowers with the unfortunate name of Alkanet.

When magnified, the furry throat appendages become visible, but more impressive is the intense blue; it could have inspired Yves Saint Laurent!
